Hostage

Loneliness has taken me hostage
and it demands my sanity for ransom.
But I have the policy that I
do not negotiate with kidnappers
So to hell with being lonesome.

I must look within to
organize an escape.
I must take my time,and evaluate,
so that success I achieve and not
a careless mistake.

They've attempted to kill my dreams,
arrest my hope.
Banish me off to an isle of despair
somewhere remote.

Listen, I hear encouragement on the horizon.
Reinforcements lead the charge.
A garrison of faith springs from the darkness.
A great victory I will forge.

See I'm a veteran, been in combat most of my life.
I've made mistakes, I've taken some hills.
I know what it means to sacrifice.
