Why Me

What did I do to deserve such a sunrise,
Along the North Atlantic shore.
Why me?
How was I allowed to survive such a car wreck
Down on the canyon floor.
Why me?
Every fall Canadian geese gathered to make flight
From across the road
And the carpet of oak leaves in brilliant gold.
Why me?
The view I got from the top of Pikes Peak
Or the overwhelming feeling, hearing my child first speak
Things I've done, that which I deserve.
Why me?
